Welcome

Hey y’all, my name is Jessica. I am the proud owner of Southern Wellness, a wife to my wonderful husband, and angel mama to our twin daughters Scarlett & Wrenley. I wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little about how I got started. 

We struggled to conceive a child for a couple of years, so our journey to become parents led us to begin infertility treatments. I started researching all that I could about infertility treatments and read many books on health benefits for conception. I learned about the benefits of eliminating harsh chemicals in skin care and soap products in regard to conceiving. I never realized what all of these companies were putting in their products that could have, not only a negative impact on women’s bodies,  but on those of men and children as well. This is when I switched from using commercial products off the shelves to using natural, handmade soaps from individual sellers. 

While enduring treatments I began looking  into how to make my own handmade soaps in hopes of one day starting my own business. A couple of months after starting our first round of IVF treatment we found out it was a success, and we were so excited to learn we were expecting twin girls. I decided to put starting my own business on hold while I was pregnant, as it is assumed not safe to work with lye while pregnant. 

My pregnancy took an unexpected turn for the worse, and I ended up delivering both of our girls at 19 weeks. After several months of recovery, I decided to pick back up on learning and creating my small business to honor our beautiful angels. So here I am now with Southern Wellness (the S and W to represent Scarlett & Wrenley), creating a product all men, women, and children can feel safe using and genuinely enjoy. All of my products are handmade, colored and scented with all natural ingredients, and without mica powders or fragrance oils. I use only high quality ingredients and essential oils.
